In Search of the Truth 2

When it comes to looking up information that is accurate and you are in search of the truth, the Internet may not be your best bet.  Now, don’t get me wrong; there are a lot of resources on the Internet that are credible such as government web sites and other things of that nature.  However, in this day and age, it seems like a lot more people rely on the Internet as the end all be all of their existence when it comes to looking up information.  While you should feel free to browse through web pages, if you are going to be using information from them to write a report or give a presentation or simply bring something up in conversation, make sure that what you’re reading is accurate.  A few ways that you can do this is to make sure that the page has an author with a first and last name. When you Google that person, does it come back to anything?  Also, look at how the web page is designed.  Does it look like a five year-old did it?  Most people tend to trust sites that look credible.
