Leaving Los Angeles
It seems like the city of can have one of two effects on an individual: 1) it can break you down, or 2) it can build you up. This effect does not seem to be limited to aspiring stars either. For instance, I have a distant cousin that is one of the many Los Angeles criminal defense attorneys. After winning a very lucrative case he and the family move to Colorado and build a big, beautiful home. It took less than two years before the entire family was back in LA. His ego couldn’t take that he never made a name for himself in Colorado the way he had in LA. Los Angeles had built him up and he couldn’t handle leaving that behind.
