Several years ago, I decided that I had a few extra pounds that I could stand to lose. It was hard to decide where to begin, but I knew that I needed to do something. So, I proceeded to do some research and joined an online weight loss group. From there, I would have access to tools to help me monitor my food intake. I also was able to find a supply of healthy recipes that would allow me to eat better. It turns out that the food I prepared was delicious and good for me. I also knew that I needed to add more exercise to my routine. I increased my cardio workouts and added weight training as well. Before I knew it, I was able to gain muscle and burn the fat. Once I lost my weight, I knew that it was important to stick to my new diet and exercise plan if I were to maintain my new weight. The key for me was to do something fun so that exercise didn’t seem like a chore. And, I watched the portions of foods I ate, which still allowed me to eat some of my favorite things.
