Yeast Infections in Women

Women are prone to getting yeast infections and the reasons for the development of infections depend on the locality of the infection.  Women, like children can develop oral yeast infections or thrush, but they can also develop vaginal yeast infections too.  The presence of a yeast infection in the vaginal area is associated with symptoms like burning during urination, itchiness, swelling of the vulva and labia, and a white, thick, vaginal discharge.  Sometimes the discharge is also associated with a foul or intense odor as well.  The female that has a vaginal yeast infection may also, occasionally, experience pain during sexual relations with her partner.
