Getting Old Cars Off The Road

The British government’s ‘scrappage scheme’ has meant that over 75,000 motorists have changed their old cars to new ones. Although I have no doubt that many ten year old cars and over are well-maintained, there have to be some that just aren’t all that roadworthy any more. I think the biggest problem with old cars is the fact that the engines are simply old fashoned. The amount of co2 they churn out can’t be helping with the environmental problems the world faces. Modern car engines are much cleaner than they were years ago. So, in my view, anything to get old cars off the road has to be a good thing.
