Amanda Beard To Join 2008 Olympic Swim Team
The latest U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials where held before a crowd of 13,247 spectators and one of the biggest surprises of these trials was Amanda Beard, who finished second in the 200-meter breaststroke to qualify for her fourth consecutive U.S. Olympic team. "Not a lot of people expected me make this team," Amanda Beard said. "I knew I could make the team, but it was a long shot. It’s really cool, I’m going to have a blast and hopefully help inspire my teammates and have them inspire me so we can bring home oodles of gold medals."
