English Horse Tack for Beginning Rider
After watching a few horse shows and going in the barns before and after competitions, I have come to understand that there is a lot of tack that is used when competing in either riding or showmanship classes. I am wondering, however, if all of the expensive English horse tack is needed in order to impress the judges. Will they unconsciously mark you or your horse lower if you have well worn or significantly cheaper tack? Of course you want your horse and yourself to look the best possible, but is all of this added expense really necessary for a beginning rider?
